Chennai comes under the four major metropolitan cities of India. It is the capital of Tamil Nadu state of India and it is also known as Gateway to South India. There are a number of spectacular places which can be visited by the tourists. St. George Fort, Marina Beach, National Art and Government Museum etc., are some popular place to witness here. Some other wonderful sites include Parthasarati temple, Birla Planetarium, Guindy National Park, Snake Park, Valluvar Kottam, Anna Zoological Park, Theosophical society and more. On the second day, we proceed to Kanchipuram. According to Hindu belief, it is one of the seven holy cities of the country. Kailasanatha Temple, Kamakshi Amman Temple and Ekambaranatha Temple devoted to Lord Shiva are available in Kanchipuram. From Kanchipuram, we head towards Mahabalipuram and you stay here till third day. The world’s largest bas-relief Arjuna’s Penance and one of the oldest temples of South India Shore Temple are found here. Rathas which are the monolithic temples shaped as chariots can be gazed thereafter. You stay in the luxurious room of your hotel in the night of both second and third days.


On fourth day of South India Heritage Tour, we head towards Pondicherry from Mahabalipuram after you take the morning breakfast. On reaching this place you check in to hotel and stay there overnight. On the fifth day, your trip to Pondicherry begins. Here, you have a lot to explore. Sri Aurbindo Ashram, established on the basis of teachings of a great spiritual leader of India Aurbindo Ghose (popularly known as Yogi Arvind), can be seen here. This is a wonderful place for those who seek the answers for their queries from spiritual sages. Promenade Auroville, Pondicherry, Museum etc., are the other places that you can see during your trip to Pondicherry. Stay in hotel overnight.


On the sixth day, head towards Thanjvor, which was the capital of Chola kings. Architectural beauty of the temples of Thanjore is really amazing. Classical art and music can be enjoyed at its best in this town. Sri Brihadeshwara Temple, Schwartz church, Hall of Church etc. are other places which can be seen in this city. The day 7 is for proceeding to Madurai where you can see a number of beautiful temples. Meenakshi Amman Temple is one of the most popular temples of the place. This temple is devoted to Lord Sundareswara and Goddess Meenakshi Amman. Wonderful architecture of white pillars, stone carvings, vast courtyards and a golden dome can be witnessed in the palace available in this city, which is known as Thirumalai Nayak Palace. On this day, the turn comes to visit Rameshwaram, which is the city that complies with the description of great epic Ramayana. According to the legend, Lord Rama visited here before starting his battle with Ravana, the king of Lanka. Ramanathaswamy Temple, Dhanushkodi Agnitheertham, Gandamadana Parvatham etc. are the other places which you gaze here. There is no doubt that Rameshwaram is a perfect cultural city of India. Stay at hotel in the night.


This day is asserted for visiting Kanyakumari. This is the meeting place of Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal and has also been recognized as the last city of India. It is also a Hindu pilgrimage. The places which can be visited here include Kumari Amman Temple, Gandhi Museum and Vivekanand Rock. You return back to hotel in the evening. Stay in hotel in the night.


On tenth day, you proceed to Thiruvananthpuram also known as Trivandrum, which is the capital of Kerala state of India. Padmanabha Sway Temple, Kuthiramalika Palace etc. are can be watched in Trivandrum. Thereafter, we take you to Kovolam on the same day where you stay till next day, i.e., eleventh day. Wonderful beaches with scenic beauty and Ayurved & Yoga centers are the specialties of Kovolam. As usual, you stay at hotel in the night.


Finally, the day comes when you have to depart back to your home and get back to your work of daily routine. From Kovalam, you take the about turn and go back to Thiruvananthpuram for boarding the flight for your home country. You are shifted to the Trivandrum airport on arrival to this city.
